In a Times Article online, the author talks about how the city of Los Angeles boycotts the state of Arizona due to it's new law with immigration status. Arizona's new law encourages racial profiling and is unconstitutional. The law is to be effective by this summer of 2010. It is going to require police enforcing another law to question a person about his or her immigration status if there is "reasonable suspicion" that the person is in the United States illegally and makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally. Although, there is strong popular support for the Arizona law. And not just the city of Los Angeles. but many other cities all over the country espicially California have passed resolutions or urged boycotts to protest the law and keep it from going through.

BMW Car Slogan:

BMW: The Ultimate Driving Machine
BMW: Sheer Driving Pleasure.
BMW: The Ultimate Driving Expierence.

Image #2
Jaguar Car Slogan:

-Born To Perform
-Unleash a Jaguar
-Don't Deam It! Drive It!
-The Art Of Performance.

Image #1 advertises BMW Automobiles and Image #2 advertises Jaguar Automobiles. Both type of car brands are pretty much competing for which car is best. In the criteria of speed, qualaity, and it's main reason for which car to choose.

In order to analyze the images with their slogans I would use the Subject By Subject Method organization. The reason why I would use this method is because since the advertisements are both stating the same thing as supposed to speed, quality, and its main reason for which car is best the Subject By Subject will clearly show the comparison of each criteria from both Car Advertisement Slogans.

In the short story, "The Lottery" Sheila Jackson argues that life is ironic, you expect one thing but get another. in the book 1984 by George Orwell, the protagonest ends up getting caught when you completly think that he will be freed . In a real world connection, everyone thaught Micheal Jackson would live foreverbut his sudden death brought the world to shock. if Jackson would have written an expository text you wouldnt have had the same feeling and understanding as you did in the fictional work.
